Shaw, one of Monroe's closest friends and most trusted photographers, was responsible for some of the most enduring images of her career, both on- and off-set. His photographs of Monroe in Travilla's bold tiger-stripe cocktail dress remain among the most iconic studio stills from The Seven Year Itch, a film that cemented Monroe's image as the definitive screen siren of the 1950s.
