Star Photo Group of 5 - Ernest Torrence, Ruth Harriet Louise and Others. Ernest Torrence (1878-1933) was a magnificent, towering film heavy, noted for roles such as Clopin, King of the Beggars in The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923) and Captain Hook in Peter Pan 1924). Here are two excellent MGM 10" x 13" publicity portraits of Torrence at ease in his Hollywood Hills home. One of the shots has the embossed name of MGM photographer Ruth Harriet Louise on the lower right corner, and her stamp on the verso, as well as a "snipe" reading, "Ernest Torrence, whose smile is often a frown in his roles for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer productions, enjoys a sunny corner of his home in the Hollywood hills." There are three other pictures as well, including an 11" x 14" of Ruth Harriet Louise and her husband, inscribed and autographed by both, with her name embossed on the lower border. Also included are two additional pictures - 11" x 14" portraits of an unidentified actor and actress. One of the Torrence pictures has minor spotting on his profile. Overall Very Fine + condition.
