Mae Clarke's Annotated Book of Photos from Big Time (1929). This superb collection of 64 original b&w 8" x 10" photos was owned by actress Mae Clarke, who appears in all the scenes from her very first feature film, which also introduced audiences to her rambunctious costar, Lee Tracy. Several of the photos include Clarke's own handwritten descriptive annotations on the reverse. Two of the scenes featuring Stepin Fetchit were once loaned to "Step" by Clarke, who included notes to the actor in her annotations. Big Time was directed by Kenneth Hawks, brother of the legendary Howard Hawks, but his career was tragically cut short when he was killed in a plane crash at age 31 the following year. In Fine to Very Fine condition with minor age toning, these "Key Book" stills are held together with two metal clips along the left border.
