    Description

Boris Karloff Negative for The Mummy. This negative offers a marvelous study of Boris Karloff, both the man and actor. It's a Universal publicity portrait, capturing a casual Karloff in his cricket jacket, reading and smoking a pipe; meanwhile, "observing" him from the wall is a portrait of the star as Ardath Bey, better known to vintage horror fans simply as The Mummy (1932). This, of course, was one of Karloff's truly classic horror performances in a makeup Jack P. Pierce proudly claimed was his own finest work. A stunner! Excellent condition. From the Boris Karloff Estate Collection. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Sara Karloff Sparkman.
