Description

    A Rosalind Russell Collection of Rare Black and White Photographs, Circa 1940s. Thirty-six total, all original prints with most having a matte finish, including: 15 from Russell's 1941 wedding to Frederick Brisson which took place at the Mission Santa Ynez in Solvang, California (where Cary Grant shows up in one shot); 6 headshots (one by George Hurrell, two by Bert Six, and three by Alexander Kahle); 6 full body shots (two by Florence Vandamm, two by Alexander Kahle, and two that are identical showing Roz standing by a fireplace); 2 film stills showing Roz and co-stars from the 1947 RKO picture "Mourning Becomes Electra," 1 of Roz and her toddler son Lance in the backyard by Alexander Kahle; and 6 of Lance's baptism (these ones are smaller at 4 1/2" x 3 1/2"); also included is a 1975 note handwritten in red ballpoint by Roz, a prayer card for her funeral, a newspaper clipping about her death, and a February 1948 issue of 'Silver Screen' magazine with some tidbits about Roz in it; all from the private collection of one of Russell's longtime personal friends, Jeanette Sutherland.
