A Dick Powell Personally-Owned Photo Album from "Convention City." Warner Bros., 1933. Housed in a black leather binder that the actor had custom-made, embossed on the spine and cover "Convention City" and further in the lower right corner of the front cover "Dick Powell," filled with 22 original print black and white stills (though five are duplicates) with a glossy finish, depicting scenes and stars from the film including Powell, Joan Blondell, Mary Astor, Adolphe Menjou, Patricia Ellis, and Guy Kibbee, among others; according to its Wikipedia page, this film is an "American pre-Code sex comedy (that) due to its racy content ...was held from circulation after the Motion Picture Production Code was enacted in 1934. Prints were subsequently ordered to be destroyed by studio head Jack L. Warner. The film is now considered lost and has become one of the more coveted lost films..." -- and these still photographs may now be the only way to see what this scandalous film looked like! From the Estate of Dick Powell; included with a Certificate of Provenance signed by their son.
    Album: 11 1/2" x 9"; Photographs: 8" x 10"
