Description

Original matte painting from The Clock. (MGM, 1945) Vintage black and white matte painting accomplished in pencil, gouache, chalk and charcoal on 28 x 22 in. artist board. Depicting "Nite Ext. Loading Plat." from the Vincent Minnelli romantic drama The Clock starring Judy Garland and Robert Walker. An artfully atmospheric piece with the hyperrealism of a technical illustration. Featuring a loading dock with a large bridge looming in the background. Meticulous pinholes have been made in the lights of the dock and when lit from behind appear as illuminated. With space below the dock blacked-out for keying in of live-action and handwritten technical specs and scenic notes in borders. Exhibiting minor signs of production-use and age. In vintage, very good condition.
