Original matte painting from For Me and My Gal. (MGM, 1942) Vintage black and white matte painting accomplished in pencil, gouache, chalk and charcoal on 28 x 22 in. artist board. Depicting "Ext. Aladdin Theater" from the Judy Garland musical For Me and My Gal also starring George Murphy and Gene Kelly. Featuring an elaborate theater marquee touting stage acts, including "Palmer and Hayden" (Kelly and Garland). Meticulous pinholes have been made in the bottom of the marquee and when lit from behind appear as illuminated marquee lights. With handwritten technical specs, scenic notes and paint daubs in edge borders. Exhibiting minor signs of production-use and age. In vintage, very good condition.
