Two Pieces of Concept Artwork from "To Kill a Mockingbird." Universal International, 1962. Both rendered on onionskin in pencil and charcoal and glued to mat boards; the first depicts three separate shots of the children ["Scout," "Jem," and "Dill" who was based on the actual, real-life Truman Capote] sneaking into the court room, typed text glued to the lower margins read "To Kill a Mockingbird / A Universal Picture / Interior Court House Lower Floor," verso displays some blue ballpoint ink quick renderings/scribblings of another interior space; the second depicts "Atticus Finch" in the court room looking towards the jury, also with typed text glued to the lower margins reading in part "Interior Court Room;" from the beloved classic that teachers still show their students 50+ years later -- a moving film that won three Academy Awards including 'Best Actor in a Leading Role' for Gregory Peck, 'Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Black-and-White' and 'Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium.' (Please note the corners of both are somewhat dog-eared due to age.)
    20" x 24" and 16" x 25"
