Thomas Blackshear II Original Poster Artwork for the "Budweiser Tea Party" (ca. 1970s). Original acrylic artwork on 17" x 23.5" illustration board (image area measures 14.5" x 20.5") depicting American colonists in Native American disguise aboard a ship celebrating by pulling Budweiser beers out of wooden crates market "Tea". Signed "T. Blackshear II" at the lower right and bears a printer registration sticker on the white margin below the artwork. As stated in the included letter of provenance from a former creative director for a Fortune 500 company, "Known as the "Master of Light", Blackshear utilized his trademark style to capture the dramatic atmosphere of his interpretation of the 'Budweiser' Tea Party. Done in the early 1970s, this ORIGINAL art piece prominently features the 'King of Beers' in a well-known historic setting. The illustration, itself, was used as the 'driving' message for all brand 'point-of-sale messaging targeting the Boston, MA marketplace..." Exhibits bumping to corners with surface cuts along with white margins, well beyond the artwork. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
