The Ten Commandments (Paramount, 1923), Moses Ascending Mount Sinai Concept Painting. Vintage concept artwork (artist unknown), executed in oil on art board, measuring 40" x 29.75". Director Cecil B. DeMille collaborated with a team of in-house artists to visually develop the dramatic tone of his productions. This striking piece captures a radiant beam of sunlight breaking through the clouds above Mount Sinai, illuminating Moses as he stands at the mountain's base, confronting the gathered Israelites. Due to age, the artwork shows signs of wear, including cracking and paint loss in the lower portion. The brittle board has been stabilized with archival tape on the reverse and displays edge wear, tearing, scattered paint chipping, pinholes, and a torn lower right corner. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
