Pan's Labyrinth (Tequila Gang, 2006), Raúl Villares - Mill Concept Sketch Original Art. Raúl Villares' detailed set design for Pan's Labyrinth captures the fortified mill compound in chilling precision, a centerpiece of fascist control and wartime brutality that anchors Guillermo del Toro's dark fairytale in historical dread. Villares' detailed sketch shows the film's Mill setting - the staging ground for the Spanish forces - along with her fearsome stepfather - Captain Vidal (Sergi López) - and the oppressive environment from which Ofelia (Ivana Baquero) seeks refuge during the horrors she endures in Pan's Labyrinth. This original schematic exemplifies the production's masterful blend of realism and fantasy through Villares' architectural draftsmanship. Graphite on conjoined sheets of paper with an image area of 30" x 11.75". Signed by Villares in the image area. Exhibits light handling with toning at the center seam.
