    Orson Welles Black Magic Movie Prop Canvas (1949). A large canvas used in the making of Black Magic, a 1949 film starring Orson Welles and Raymond Burr, and also known as Cagliostro. Welles co-directed the film as well. The canvas depicts the life of Count Cagliostro with various painted images. Designed by the noted and Oscar-winning designer, Nino Novarese. From the estate of Prince Alessandro Tasca di Cutò, who had a multi-decade personal and professional relationship with Welles. Was exhibited at the Royal Palace in Palermo and published in the accompanying catalog. Measures approximately 76" x 79". The canvas is folded and very fragile. Soiling is throughout, along with many tears in the fabric. COA from Heritage Auctions.
