    Original Sam Berman Illustrations with Corresponding Newspaper Appearances (1936-37). From Mark Hellinger's "Goin' to Town" articles ranging from 1936-1937, this archive features five original Sam Berman ink/gouache illustrations on board, with printing annotations, along with their corresponding appearances in original periodical clippings (contained chronologically in two large 19" x 23.5" scrapbooks). The illustrations range in size from 7" x 20" to 10" x 22" and include caricatures of Joan Crawford, Marlene Dietrich, Al Jolson, Errol Flynn, many others. In overall Good condition with yellowing to the scrapbook pages and border wear, corner wear, and tanning to the illustrations. From the Mark Hellinger Archive.
