National Treasure Storyboards Original Art Group of 21 Signed by Trevor Goring (Walt Disney, c. 2004). "How could a ship wind up way out here?" "Well, I'm no expert, but... It could be that the hydrothermic properties of this region produce hurricane-force ice storms that cause the ocean to freeze and then melt and then refreeze, resulting in a semisolid migrating land mass that would land a ship right around here." Here is an amazing alternate opening sequence for National Treasure in which Benjamin Franklin Gates (played by Nicolas Cage) discovers a hidden ship in the Arctic. These wordless original storyboards by artist Trevor Goring are stunning mood-setters, establishing a large, frozen wasteland and the small group of two historians traversing it. This quiet, slow and majestic sequence is an excellent example of Goring's storyboard work, showcasing his adept ability to not only clearly tell a story, but also to take the time and energy to establish pace and mood. These beautiful and large drawings are rendered in blue pencil on 12" x 9" vellum tracing paper, and the drawings measure 11" x 4" each. Goring has signed the first page, and the signature is dated 2020. The sheets show minor handling and edge wear with occasional light smudging, and the condition overall is Very Good.
