Description

Mötley Crüe -- A Related Group of Original Illustrations Used for Merchandising of "Girls, Girls, Girls" World Tour, 1987. This lot (three individual pieces) showing is hand painted airbrush work applied to matte board and mounted onto 1" Styrofoam. The first illustration depicts a "Stripper Girl", while the second is a "Rebel Rocker" (resembling Nikki Sixx) with the third piece also being a "Stripper Girl". Each piece is signed (by the artist: "Tyler") in the lower right corner. All three pieces were used for the tour merchandise such as t-shirts, tour programs, backstage passes, etc. that was sold during this now-historic tour.

As a bonus, all three works are housed within elaborate, custom-made display cases which warrant their own description: Each is made of metal and layered in aluminum with a high-gloss powder-coated outer frame (3" wide by 4" deep); the second layer is 1/8" raw aluminum (water jet cut), 'Harley flames,' with the backs enclosed with 1/8" powder-coated matt finish black diamond plate steel, including top cut-out keyholes to provide easy-to-hang capabilities; mounted on the frame front is 1/4" steel lettering (water jet cut) "Girls", chrome-plated in deep fuchsia (the color used on the album cover), and raised off the frame front at 1/2"; a clear acrylic is mounted on frame front interior to enclose each piece to help keep it dust-free and maintain the pristine condition. Also applied to each frame interior are RGB/LED lighting elements which come with a remote control to set the desired tone for colors or fade scroll effects.
    Each frame weights 40 pounds and measure 34"w x 40"h x 4"d; Each illustration measures 18" x 16"

PLEASE NOTE if you are the successful winner of this lot, it will be the buyers responsibility to retrieve these works from Heritage's Beverly Hills, CA office or arrange for a shipper to pick up from there.
