Mervyn LeRoy Painting by Nicholas Volpe from the Beverly Hills CENSORED Club. The distinctions of Mervyn LeRoy (1900-1987) in Hollywood history are many: he directed such film as Little Caesar, Golddiggers of 1933, Random Harvest, 30 Seconds Over Tokyo and Quo Vadis, produced such classics as The Wizard of Oz, and directed 13 actors in Oscar-nominated performances. He even introduced Ronald Reagan to Nancy Davis! This superb study of LeRoy was painted and signed by the artist Volpe and comes in a 18" x 22" black wooden frame with gold trim. Some wear to the frame and the lower area of the painting, otherwise in Fine to Very Fine condition. An excellent study of a man who for over 35 years was a major mover and shaker in film history. From the Beverly Hills CENSORED Club Celebrity Roast Archive.
