    Description

Marlene Dietrich Rancho Notorious Costume Design Sketch by Moss Mabry. A stunning, rare 14" x 18" costume design sketch for a gown worn by Dietrich in the 1952 western by Fritz Lang. Though Don Loper is credited as costume designer for the movie, Mabry actually provided the design for this gown, worn by Dietrich in key scenes. Mabry was just starting his career at the time, and he would go on to work for Warner Bros. and earn four Academy Award nominations. The drawing is in gouache, pencil, and ink on art board. A rare item, in Excellent condition and accompanied by an image of Dietrich in the finished costume.
