Description
Large Costume Design Sketch for Robert Brown "Lazarus" from the Episode "The Alternative Factor" of Star Trek: The Original Series (NBC TV, 1966-1969). A large costume design sketch of Robert Brown by costume designer, William Ware Theiss, depicting the actor wearing a woven brown tunic and matching leggings with long-sleeve black shirt as "Lazarus", the mentally unstable time traveler in the memorable Season 1 episode, "The Alternative Factor". Accomplished in pencil, ink, and colored ink marker on a leaf of artist illustration board, with the character's name handwritten in blue ink marker at the lower right. The sketch depicts a brown costume, but ultimately a brighter blue color was selected for the screen. The sketch measures 20 in. x 30 in. and housed in a mat with overall dimensions of 24 in. x 34 in. It exhibits a few light scuffs and marginal smudges, but remains in Very Good condition.
