DescriptionHigh Society Promenade (c. 1955-60) by Orry-Kelly (American, 1897-1964). A 24" x 36" oil painting on canvasboard, signed at lower edge left of center by Oscar-winning costume designer, Orry-Kelly. A former mural painter, Orry-Kelly was never one to limit his skills to costume designs -- a fact Lucy obviously understood and appreciated, as she had multiple Orry-Kelly paintings in her collection. The woman shown in profile wearing a dotted veil on the right of the central trio bears a striking resemblance to Lucille Ball. The painting is in Very Good original condition in its original frame. Framed to an overall size of 33" x 45". This lot will be accompanied by a letter of provenance from Susie Morton as the widow of Gary Morton, Ms. Ball's second husband. The lot is not offered by the estate of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. This lot requires 3rd party shipping.
