Its gears turn with ancient menace, anchoring the story's mythic tension. Mignola, Hellboy's creator, renders the scene in shadowed grandeur, blending folklore, cosmic horror, and gothic machinery into one unforgettable image. This intricate device appears at the end of the movie, when Rasputin forces Hellboy (Ron Perlman) to use his oversized hand to free Ogdru Jahad from its celestial prison and initiate the countdown of this ancient apocalypse clock. Rendered in ink and colored pencil over graphite on paper with an image area of 8.25" x 9". Signed and dated by Mignola below the image area. Exhibits light handling.
