Group of Costume Sketches for Nancy Sinatra, Ruth Buzzi, Artie Johnson and Henry Gibson by Michael Travis from Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In (NBC TV, 1967-1973). A group of five vintage original costume sketches by Michael Travis for an episode of this trailblazing comedy variety show. The sketches are for Martian and outer space themed designs, called "Moon People" here, and include one for Nancy Sinatra, one for Ruth Buzzi, and one alien costume to be worn by Artie Johnson and Henry Gibson. Accomplished in pencil, ink, ink marker, and gouache on leaves of artist illustration paper in different sizes from approximately 12 in. x 15 in. to 15 in. x 18 in. Each sketch is signed by Michael Travis and bears his handwritten notations in the margins. Three include fabric swatches attached with pins. The sketches exhibit some light wear, with creases, marginal smudges, and signs of handling, but remain in good to very good condition.View all of [The Comisar Collection ]
