    Description

Game of Thrones Melisandre The Red Witch Storyboards by William Simpson Group of 5 (HBO, 2011). Originally born a slave in Asshai centuries ago, Melisandre is a Red Priestess of the Lord of Light and counselor to King Stannis Baratheon in his campaign to seize the Iron Throne. Following Stannis's death, she revives Jon Snow and serves him as an advisor. Eventually banished, she returns to Winterfell and participates the final battle against the Night King and his army of White Walkers, wielding the power of R'hllor. Presented here is the original storyboard art for season 6, episode 601, scene 1.39 by storyboard and concept artist William Simpson. His artwork is credited in the development of much of the look and feel of HBO's Game of Thrones based on George R. R. Martin's fantasy book series A Song of Ice and Fire. This scene is comprised of 17 hand-drawn panels measuring approximately 5.25" x 3" across five 11.75" x 16.5" pages. Each is rendered in graphite along the left side of the page with dialogue and direction to the right. The scene depicted is one that all Game of Thrones fans will remember where Melisandre disrobes and removes her magical necklace revealing her true ancient self. All pages are signed and initialed by the artist in the lower right corner. Notes by the artist about the scene and its filming are on the back of page one. The art shows handling and edge wear. Condition is Very Good. COA from Heritage Auctions.
