Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning (Paramount, 1985), French Poster Concept Art. Original art design component for the French poster art for Friday the 13th Part V, featuring a photostat paste-up of a maskless figure wielding a bloody machete and staring off in the distance on a black artist's board. Measuring 32" x 20" overall with photostat paste-up embellished with mixed media elements including pastel, ink, and felt-tip. The image depicted here can be seen on the final French poster art for the film, on which the eerie figure is superimposed over a close-up of the iconic "Jason" hockey mask, with the blood printed red to match the highlights on the mask and the borders and title treatment. This installment of the Friday the 13th franchise introduced a new killer to the mythology, a copycat Jason, in order to create a new trilogy storyline, though that plan was quickly abandoned. Artwork exhibits some signs of wear and age, including edgewear, damp staining and toning, corner bumps, and loosened glue to the paste-up.
