Description
For Love or Money Matte Painting (Universal, 1963). Matte painting accomplished in mixed media on 45" x 34.5" glass in pine frame. Created by master matte artist Albert Whitlock, this full-painting established a nighttime view from the bachelor pad of Deke Gentry (Kirk Douglas).The billboard was the topic between the two characters in the scene, particularly why a baby food executive would use a picture of himself as a baby on his own product. In addition to Whitlock's outstanding use of color and perspective, evident are his renowned lettering skills. Whitlock's early film career began as a sign painter, years before perfecting his matte painting techniques for hundreds of film and television scenes. Signed by the artist.
