Caddyshack (Warner Bros., 1980), "Music from the Motion Picture Soundtrack" Key Art by John Solie. Original key art accomplished in acrylic on canvas by John Solie for the soundtrack to the smash 1980 comedy Caddyshack. Canvas is professionally framed in custom light wood measuring 47.5" x 47.5" x 1.5" overall. Artwork depicts the central characters from the beloved film including Ty Webb (Chevy Chase), Carl Spackler (Bill Murray), Al Czervik (Rodney Dangerfield), Judge Smails (Ted Knight), and Lacey Underall (Cindy Morgan), on a white background with the Bushwood Country Club in the background being struck by lightning. Of course, the pesky gopher that becomes the object of Spackler's obsession is front and center, with its paws ready to detonate an explosive and a devilish grin on its face. Each character is portrayed in their signature look including binoculars and a machete for Spackler, golf bag with wired telephone and draft beer for Czervik, and Skipper's cap for Judge Smails. This key art was used for the soundtrack released alongside the film and was made by noted designer John Solie, whose credits include Piranha (New World, 1978), Smokey and the Bandit (Universal, 1977), and The Harder They Come (New World, 1973). Exhibits minimal signs of wear with some rubbing and smudges to the bottom portion of the canvas and occasional areas of wear to the wood frame. Signed to image by the artist.
