Description

BurgerTime Arcade Game Original Production & Concept Art Lot of 50 (Bally Midway, 1982). Gathered from Bally Midway's U.S. production of BurgerTime, this expansive fifty-piece archive documents the visual birth of one of the most charming and enduring arcade titles of the golden age. Designed around chef Peter Pepper's frantic dash through kitchens filled with towering burgers and mischievous walking food, the game's cabinet and control-panel art became inseparable from its identity—bright, cartooned, and instantly playful. This collection preserves that creation process in remarkable detail, spanning the earliest pencil explorations through to production-ready films. Included are original character sketches, early logo treatments, large-format inked renderings of Peter Pepper and the food enemies, layout drawings for the marquee and bezel, cabinet graphic studies, and a wide array of production transparencies, negatives, color separations, and screen films used to manufacture the final cabinet art. Together they chart the full evolution of the game's visual language, showing how loose concept doodles became the crisp, iconic illustrations that defined BurgerTime on arcade floors nationwide. The materials show varying degrees of handling and studio use consistent with production work, with strong overall presentation. A rare, career-spanning archive from one of Midway's most beloved properties, this group offers a deep, behind-the-scenes look at how a cabinet-art classic was built layer by layer. For collectors of arcade history, this is an opportunity as flavorful—and as uncommon—as the game itself.
