    Batman Storyboards Original Art Group of 6 (Warner Brothers c. 1989). From the Tim Burton-directed Batman, starring Michael Keaton as Batman and Jack Nicholson as the Joker, here is a spectacular sequence of six original storyboards by the hand of the legendary artist David Russell. Rendered in white and black Prismacolor pencil on midnight blue storyboard panels, the stylized technique used in these drawings evolved as a result of Tim Burton's requests for darker imagery. Mr. Russell's work on this film can be seen throughout the book Batman: The Definitive History of the Dark Knight in Comics, Film and Beyond by Andres Fargo and Gina McIntyre. Having worked on over 80 major motion pictures over the course of his career including Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The Wolverine, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, David Russell exhibits a mastery of the craft of storyboarding. These six hand-drawn storyboards measure 7" x 4" and are mounted on three sheets of 8.5" x 11" paper numbered 4 - 9 with production notes. These rare pieces show minor handling wear, and the condition overall is Very Good. From the David Russell Collection.
