Batman Batmobile, Batcave, and Bat-Plane Original Concept Art Group of 3 (Warner Brothers, c. 1989). Presented are three spectacular early concepts of the iconic vehicles of Tim Burton's Batman, rendered on black paper with white pastel pencil. These incredible drawings helped define one of the most recognizable cars in film history, and they additionally establish the look and feel of the Batcave and the Bat-Plane. Curvilinear forms rendered in stark black and white, the drawings are by the hand of David Russell, prominent storyboard artist of such films as Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, Moulin Rouge, The Wolverine and many more. Russell's creative stamp can be felt in all of the movies on which he works, and that is especially evident in these sketches. The three drawings are rendered on 12.5" x 9.5" sheets of black paper, and those sheets are mounted to 14" x 11" sheets of black paper. They are noted with scene numbers in the lower left corners. They show very little handling wear, and the condition overall is Very Good. From the David Russell Collection.
