Andy Warhol Marilyn Monroe Screenprints by Sunday B. Morning. The iconic image of Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe is one of the most memorable of his oeuvre -- a reflection of idolatry, a comment on mass production, and Warhol's desire to make morbid concepts alluring (he began his first Marilyn piece the month she died). The stunning image was based on a publicity still of Monroe from the film Niagara, and while beautiful on its own, Warhol set about to transform the image from its original state into something transcendant, using an electrifying palette and the silk-screen process. Printed by Sunday B. Morning, this set of ten 36" x 36" Marilyns are each stamped in blue ink en verso: "Published by Sunday B. Morning" and "Fill in Your Own Signature," and are the same size as Warhol's original edition. In Very Fine to Excellent condition with minor instances of corner wear.
