Description

An Orson Welles-Owned Special Edition Suite of Prints Titled "La Tauromaquia" by Francisco de Goya, 1965. Forty-two total, all depicting various images of bullfighting originally created by the master Goya, specially printed in 1965 in "homage to the New York's World Fair" by the Spanish General Commisair at the Fair, printed in English and Spanish by Ediciones de Arte, S.A. in Madrid, this suite in particular made especially for Welles as the title page indicates -- "Al admirado / Orson Welles / con un abrazo de FDO. Antonio de Horna Lopez;" housed in a rust-colored leather case with the title in gold embossing on the cover and spine; included with a letter from Beatrice Welles indicating she consigned this lot directly to Heritage Auctions. (Please note some of the prints are yellowed and wrinkled due to age, but the overall condition is still decent.)
