DescriptionGone with the Wind Pre-Production Concept Painting (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1939). Gouache on illustration board, rendered in somber tones of black, gray, and brown, depicting a stormy night with two horses and a covered wagon as a man on the ground holds a whip, unsigned but housed in an 'of the era' mat board with a penciled annotation on the lower right side reading "Gone With The Wind," scene is likely one from the book that never made it into the film. (Please note mat board is now yellowed, stained, and brittle due to age but the art work itself is still in good condition.)
Work: 14 1/2" x 18"; Whole Piece: 18 1/2" x 22 1/2"
