    A Marilyn Monroe Owned Wood Engraving, Circa 1930. By Edward Gordon-Craig, untitled, from a scene in "Hamlet," on wove paper, initialed in pencil in the lower right "EGC," placard mounted below work reads in part "From the estate of / Marilyn Monroe;" also included is a 'People' magazine from November 15, 1999 quoting the woman who bought this lot in the below-referenced auction.

    PROVENANCE:
    This piece was originally part of a lot of three that sold in the Christie's (New York) auction titled "The Personal Property of Marilyn Monroe," Sale 9216, October 27-28, 1999, Lot 424, final price realized was $6,500; the buyer later re-framed this work, but the original framing Monroe had can be seen on page 297 in the 1999 Christie's catalogue.
