PROVENANCE:
This painting was given directly by Frank Sinatra to Sandra Gould [the character actress who portrayed "Gladys Kravitz" on "Bewitched"] and her husband, Larry Berns. Berns met Sinatra when he produced a number of the singer's radio shows in the 1940s and he and his wife maintained a friendship with Sinatra for decades. Gould claimed she was the one who first encouraged Sinatra to pick up a paint brush and though this is hard to prove, it seems evident that Sinatra did have affection for Gould as he wrote an introduction to her 1960 book, 'Always Say Maybe: A Modern Girl's Guide to Almost Everything - But Mostly Men!' This painting was consigned directly to Heritage by Gould's and Berns' son, Michael Berns.
