Description

1982 Group Lot of 5 Bally Spectrum Pinball Machine Original Unproduced Backglass Concept & Preliminary Playfield Artwork by Margaret Hudson. This group lot features striking unproduced concept art for Bally's Spectrum pinball machine, highlighted by a mixed-media backglass design mounted on art board measuring 17.75" x 17.25," with the artwork itself measuring 14.25" x 12.75." The backglass concept is in excellent condition, showcasing the bold, futuristic aesthetic that defined the game's cutting-edge appeal. Accompanying the piece are four large-format preliminary playfield artworks, each approximately 42" x 23.5." Two are delicate sketches on onion paper, one is a vibrant mixed-media rendering on art paper, and one is a test print that exhibits some discoloration, water damage, edge loss, and a 5.5" tear on the right side. While each of the playfield works displays some degree of wear from handling and age, they remain solid and visually impressive, providing a fascinating glimpse into the creative process behind this visually distinctive Bally release.
