1981 Group Lot of 6 Bally Fathom Pinball Machine Original Playfield & Cabinet Artwork by Greg Freres. This is a group lot of original playfield and cabinet artwork for Bally's visually striking Fathom pinball machine. The playfield is represented by three large production pieces, each with an image area of about 40" x 20": original playfield art in acrylics on Bainbridge board, original production art in printing and markers mounted to foamcore, and a playfield transparency mounted to Bainbridge. All show light handling wear but remain highly displayable. Complementing these are three pieces of original cabinet art on vellum, rendered in bold markers with flowing aquatic motifs. These range in size from 52" x 17.5" to 26.5" x 7.5," each showing minor handling wear and some edge tearing that does not affect the images. This lot offers an extraordinary behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Greg Freres's celebrated underwater fantasy artwork, a defining element of Fathom.
