W.C. Fields Mask. In the early 1930s, W.C. Fields was a major star at Paramount Studios, where Wally Westmore was chief of makeup and where Westmore's teenage brother Bud was his apprentice. Together they created this uncanny life mask of Fields, complete with a characteristically lecherous grin and a bulbous nose that over the decades -- perhaps not surprisingly, considering its size -- has chipped. Mask measures 8" wide and 13" tall, with enhancements of eyes, hair, teeth, and collar. Some chipping on ears, collar, and, as noted, the epic nose; overall Very Good condition. Accompanied by an LOA from Jeannie Westmore.
