Description

The Wonderful Game of Oz. Salem, MA: Parker Bros., 1921 [but 1922]. First issue, with pewter figures (later editions replaced the Oz characters with wood turnings). Boxed game with folding chromolithographed game board, [8] page rule booklet with pictorial wrappers, a wooden dice cup with 6 wooden die (each spelling W-I-Z-A-R-D on the sides), and 3 (of 4) pewter playing pieces representing Dorothy (detached from base), Scarecrow, and Cowardly Lion.

Condition: Original cardboard folding box with color pictorial label. Box split along flaps, lacking left flap, heavy edgewear, rubbed and somewhat soiled; board edges worn, rule booklet with typed ownership signature and splitting along spine, later foam packing material.
