Description

The Thing Beta 1982 - IGS Box 8.5 MINT and Seal 9 MINT, Side MCA Home Video Watermarks, MCA Videocassette Inc. In 1982 John Carpenter's remake of the Howard Hawks produced The Thing From Another World hit cinema screens and landed with a audible thud. It was destroyed by critics who hated its cynical outlook and gory creature effects in a world that was enamored with the recently released and beloved E.T. It's hard to believe this reaction since The Thing is now considered by many to be a John Carpenter's masterpiece alongside Halloween. The Thing oozes cool from Kurt Russell's portrayal of the rugged MacReady, to Carpenter's deft direction, Rob Bottin's amazingly disturbing creature effects and the driving score of the legendary Ennio Morricone.

This rare MCA "rainbow" Beta copy of The Thing with side MCA Home Video block-style watermarks has received a Box grade of 8.5 MINT and a Seal grade of 9 MINT by IGS.
