Terry Southern's Personal Effects from World War II Military Service. Vintage original group of (5) of Terry Southern's personal World War II items, including (1) military ID bracelet inscribed "Terry M. Southern Jr.," "U.S. Army," and serial number "38-435-001" on the reverse, measuring approx. 8" x 0.5", (1) black-and-white photo of Southern in uniform, 5" x 3.5", (1) personal copy of the War Department Basic Field Manual / Soldier's Handbook with 251 pages, 7.5" x 4.5", (1) 39-page Office of War Information document titled "Quotations from Nazi Sources" on 8.5" x 11" paper with a blue cover dated December 1942, and (1) photostat copy of Southern's Honorable Discharge dated November 3, 1945, listing two Bronze Stars, Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and 3-Overseas Service Bars, stamped "Electric Photocopy" and dated November 13, 1945. "Quotations from Nazi Sources" cover is detached, and pages are faded, curled, and worn, bracelet is tarnished, photo exhibits fading, bent corners, and edge wear, and field manual exhibits water staining and fading.
