Description
Splash VHS 1984 - CGC Home Video 9.8 and Seal A+, Clamshell, Side Walt Disney Home Video Foil Red Logo Sticker Seal, Touchstone Home Video. Splash, the 1984 romantic comedy directed by Ron Howard, is a heartwarming and whimsical tale of love between a man and a mermaid that had a delightful effect on fans. Starring Tom Hanks as the charming Allen Bauer and Daryl Hannah as the enchanting mermaid Madison, the film's magical love story captivated audiences with its blend of humor and romance. Its effect on fans was one of pure joy and fascination, as they were enchanted by the film's fantastical premise and endearing characters. Splash continues to be cherished by fans for its timeless message about love transcending boundaries and its ability to evoke a sense of wonder, making it a beloved classic in the realm of romantic comedies. Most people don't realize that the earliest Touchstone releases came in clamshells, due to the fact that they are extremely tough to find. This factory sealed VHS copy comes to us from The Motor City Collection, CGC Home Video's first pedigree. The Motor City Collection is particularly remarkable due to the fact that original purchaser would typically write the date that the item was purchased on the price tag, sometimes along with the store name or the street that the store was located on. Based on the handwritten notes on the price tag, this tape was originally purchased on 10-23-85 at a Music Land in Michigan. It has received an impressive grade of 9.8 by CGC, with a Seal grade of A+.
The Motor City Collection is CGC Home Video's first VHS pedigree. The gentleman who originally assembled this unbelievable collection had purchased items as far back as the 1970s and began with vinyl records. He would typically go out of his way to write the date of purchase on the price tags, as well as other identifiable info like a city, street, or store name. His collection was unknown to even his family until his passing. The majority of the items he'd purchased remained unopened in their original factory shrink wrap.
