    Description

Seven Miscellaneous Framed Items, 1960s-1970s. Including: 1) a print of the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima; 2) a letter/poem by A.C. Fifield; 3) a print of a man and a goat; 4) a print of a drawing/poem; 5) an 1864 handwritten letter from a prisoner to his sister; 6) a page of original sheet music from 'Song of the Bombardiers' signed to Bob Fellows [Wayne's one-time business partner] by the composers Jack Schell and M.K. Jerome; and 7) a page torn out of a magazine showing a woman, a Boxer dog, and the back of a horse with Wayne's handwritten annotation in pencil reading "Jack / I thought Ward / raised Chesapeakes" -- this last piece related to a running joke between Wayne and John Ford where they would send each other images of horses' asses with a funny remark about Ward Bond. (Please go to our website to see images of the other pieces.)
