Pokémon (OLM, 1997-Present), "Jesse" and "James" Production Cel with Painted Background. Original hand-painted production 3 cel set-up including (1) 13" x 10" cel marked "209 C1" on the top right corner featuring Team Rocket member James, (1) 13" x 9" cel marked "B1" on the top right corner with lip foreground elements, and (1) 13" x 9" cel marked "209 A1" on the top right corner featuring Team Rocket member Jesse. Cels are presented on a 10" x 14" painted background rendered in gouache and marked "209 2" on the top right corner. This dynamic lot presents the ever-nefarious members of Team Rocket in their iconic catchphrase poses. Pokémon, originally released in 1996 as a video game on Nintendo's handheld console, Gameboy, has since become one of the most successful media titans of all time spawning anime, movies, and merchandise known the world over by adoring fans. Cels each have 3-peg holes across the top edge and have been stapled together near the top left and right corners. Displays light production wear. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
