Personal book-bound script for Yellow Sky (20th Century-Fox, 1948). Vintage original 131-page revised final script dated May 14, 1948. Screenplay by Lamar Trotti, from a story by W.R Burnett. The present script was custom-bound for Mr. Peck's personal library in full burgundy calf with title and Mr. Peck's name stamped in gilt on the front board. Spine stamped in gilt with five raised bands. Decorative endpapers. Script front cover bound-in. With 24 gelatin silver glossy 6.75" x 9.25" production stills from the film tipped to pages bound-in. Spine slightly sun faded, spine edges rubbed. Corners rubbed. A few light scuffs and impressions to the boards. Fine.

The story is loosely adapted from Shakespeare's, The Tempest, and follows a band of outlaws on the run after a bank robbery who meet an old man and his granddaughter in a ghost town. Lauren Bacall was originally intended to be Peck's co-star, but was unavailable, so the role passed to Anne Baxter, who played the tomboy, "Mike."

Please note that while not a studio presentation script, the present script was custom bound for Mr. Peck's personal library and features his name stamped in gilt on the front board.
