DescriptionMarlene Dietrich Personally Owned Pairs of Egg Cups (2). Two pairs of egg cups personally owned by Marlene Dietrich. Includes: 1) Pair of porcelain egg cups, rimmed in gold with a circular blue pattern underneath. Cups are each numbered along bottom "2 / 1315" in red, and one cup has a "Grainger & Co. / Worcester" marking. Cups measure 2" in diameter x 2.25" tall. Tiny chip to one and a 1.25" crack forming on other. In Very Good Plus condition; 2) Pair of double egg cups from her New York apartment. One cup is in the iconic red oriental "Willow" pattern and bears a "Made in England" stamp. The other is nearly identical in size, shape, and color, but is part of the Johnson Brothers' classic "Historic America" pattern, featuring a scene from Fort Dearborn, Chicago, complete with acorn and oak leaf motif. The latter bears no marks. Each measures 4" in height with a 2.5" diameter mouth on the wider end and 2" diameter mouth on the smaller end.
