DescriptionMark Hellinger's Brute Force Script and Photos. A brooding prison film that delivers on what its title promises, Brute Force (1947) expertly captured the cynicism and malaise of post-war America with a level of onscreen violence unusual for the time. Included here are Hellinger's personal copy of the temp script for the movie, dated December 20, 1946, 134 pages, complete; three b&w 8" x 10" photos taken during production, all featuring Hellinger and star Burt Lancaster (one featuring them with director Jules Dassin); and a striking 10.25" x 13.5" photo still of Lancaster in the movie, matted and framed to 17.5" x 15" and inscribed "To Mark -- with all my thanks -- Burt" on the mat. A great selection of items, in overall Very Fine condition. From the Mark Hellinger Archive.
