Marilyn Monroe Twice-Signed Metropolitan Opera Program. Vintage original program for the 1958-1959 season of the Metropolitan Opera, signed twice by Marilyn Monroe in blue ink. Monroe and Norman Rosten forged a years-long friendship through their mutual love of art, poetry, and culture, as their lives intertwined within New York City's cultural scene during the mid- to late 1950s. Many evenings during their friendship were spent enjoying opera and theater, attending galas and events, and absorbing the best the city had to offer. Monroe signed and inscribed this Metropolitan Opera program for Norman, reading "To Norman, Love and Kisses, Marilyn Monroe". An additional signature appears above the inscription on the cover. 44 pages (as paginated), including the upcoming schedule for the season, measuring 6.5" x 9".
