    Description

Marian Marsh Film and Radio Scripts. Marian Marsh saved her scripts, even for the films she opted not to appear in. This lot includes the scripts for Counterfeit (Columbia, 1936); Marian has signed the cover in green ink "Miss Marsh", adding her character's name of "Verna"; The Barrier (Paramount, 1937), in which Jean Parker apparently replaced Marian in the female leading role; and She Didn't Want a Sheik (aka The Sheik Steps Out, 1937), in which Lola Lane replaced Marian as the female lead. Also included is a script for a 1937 radio interview show Marian performed with Tom Brown, hosted by writer and radio personality Elza Schallert; and the script for the June 19, 1938 Woodbury's Hollywood Playhouse episode "In Love and How," in which Marian co-starred with Tyrone Power and Mary Astor. Finally there are two curiosities: a script for Screen Stars Reveal Secrets of Film Make-up that bears Carole Lombard's name, and a few pages from the screenplay for Dante's Inferno. In overall Very Good to Fine condition.
