Description

Lucille Ball's Golf Clubs and Shoes. Though her various TV personas were often shown to be hopeless at it, Lucille Ball was both an avid and accomplished golfer. She played often with both of her husbands, and even worked them into golf-related episodes of her shows. (The 1954 "The Golf Game" episode of I Love Lucy featured Lucy and Ethel attempting to learn the game in order to spend time with their husbands. The story was reworked into an episode of The Lucy Show in 1964, with second husband Gary Morton making a rare appearance on the show as Lucy's TV boyfriend.) Lucy even went so far as to buy a home right on the links of the fabled Thunderbird Country Club in Rancho Mirage.
Included here is a set of 12 clubs owned and used by Lucy, each engraved with her name on the head, accompanied by her personal golf bag with "Lucy" stenciled on the side, and her personal pair of golf shoes. The items were frequently used by the famous comedienne, but are in overall Very Fine condition. This lot will be accompanied by a letter of provenance from Susie Morton as the widow of Gary Morton, Ms. Ball's second husband. The lot is not offered by the estate of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Third party shipping required.
