Description

John Wayne Limited Edition Belt Buckle (ca. 1970s). Original brass belt buckle featuring graphic in bas-relief within of Wayne in a cowboy hat, Wayne riding a horse through the countryside, and the Red River belt buckle, with raised text to top center reading "John Wayne". Verso contains an engraved John Wayne signature, a stamp to center reading "No 1", and a maker's stamp reading "Shotgun / Minted Brass Made In England". The belt buckle was patented and registered by J & H Buckles in Colorado before being manufactured in limited quantities in England in the '70s. Item is presented in a collector's case measuring 4.5" x 4.5" x 1" with navy blue faux leather over rigid plastic core and labeled "Limited Edition" below the title logo for the John Wayne film Brannigan (UA, 1975). Buckle measures 3.5" x 2.5". Items exhibit handling and wear as to be expected with age, with slight oxidation, minor discoloration to the text, and small scratching to back of buckle, overall presenting well.
